To start off this episode, Doug mentions one of his favorite blog posts, (written by Ginny herself) Quality vs. Quantity: A 6-Month Analysis of the Age-Old Blogging Debate. Ginny then says that a lot has changed since she wrote this post in 2015.
Google used to be THE channel, but with the changes to the user interface, the addition of voice search, etc., content has to change as well. It's not about niche keywords anymore. You have to think strategically about what channels will work for you and your business and how customers look for your information...which may not be through google anymore. Doug and Mike say that content would be better today if the people creating it didn't know how the content ranks. Blogs today are more about traffic and metrics instead of being relevant and putting forth a point of view...and we need to change that!
